BounceBack

You can learn to think and feel better!

The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) has now expanded its BounceBack® program across Canada, thanks to a donation from Bell Let’s Talk.

BounceBack is a free, guided self-help program that helps adults and youth 15+ learn to manage low mood, mild to moderate depression, anxiety, stress or worry. Through telephone coaching and skill-building workbooks, participants can learn ways to overcome their symptoms and improve their mental well-being.

Based on cognitive behavioural therapy, BounceBack has been shown to reduce depressive and anxiety symptoms by 50%. Already offered by CMHA in BC, Ontario and parts of Manitoba, where it is funded by provincial governments and donors, BounceBack is now being expanded to the rest of Canada.

“CMHA is so pleased to offer BounceBack to people all across Canada,” said Margaret Eaton, National CEO of CMHA. “This program gives participants access to proven mental health supports with guidance over the phone, making it possible to get help from home.”

Available in English and French to residents across Canada, the program is free to all participants and is guided by trained coaches overseen by clinical psychologists. Participants can find out if they’re eligible and refer themselves to the program by filling out an online registration form.

The expansion of BounceBack is made possible by a $1 million donation from Bell Let’s Talk.

“Bell Let’s Talk is proud to help CMHA introduce the BounceBack program to more Canadians as the demand for virtual mental health supports increases as a result of COVID-19,” said Mary Deacon, Chair of Bell Let’s Talk. “Through the expansion of the BounceBack program, we are supporting Canadians in this time of crisis and uncertainty on a national scale.”
